Author Bio

Radine Trees Nehring began writing about the Ozarks in 1986, has many magazine and newspaper credits, and for ten years was a broadcast journalist with her own program about the Ozarks.

Radine's non-fiction book, DEAR EARTH, (1995) won the Arkansas Governor's award for best writing about the state as well as OWFI (Oklahoma) and Dan Saults (Missouri) awards. She is the author of several short stories published by Skyward in "MYSTERIES OF THE OZARKS, Vols I and II and elsewhere, and a series of "To Die For" mystery novels featuring amateur sleuths Carrie McCrite, Henry King, and their friends. The first novel, A VALLEY TO DIE FOR (St. Kitts Press, 2002) earned a Macavity nomination and "Best Mystery Novel" from Oklahoma Writers' Federation. MUSIC TO DIE FOR (Ozark Folk Center State Park, AR 2003), A TREASURE TO DIE FOR (Hot Springs National Park, AR, 2005) and A WEDDING TO DIE FOR (The historic Crescent Hotel, Eureka Springs, AR, 2006) have been similarly honored by OWFI. A WEDDING TO DIE FOR was nominated by Deadly Ink for a David G. Sasher Award as "Best Mystery Novel, 2006, and was chosen as an Arkansas Best Book for that year. The newest Carrie and Henry Novel, A RIVER TO DIE FOR (2008) takes place at Buffalo National River, AR, and involves archeological looting, abduction, and murder.

Radine Trees Nehring is a member of Ozarks Writers League, Sisters in Crime, and Authors Guild. She represents the state of Arkansas on the board of Mystery Writers of America, SW Chapter.
