I was born in Amarillo, Texas, and grew up in Laramie, Wyoming. I've published seven novels: THE FALL OF LUCIFER, THE RAPE OF GANYMEDE, TORSOS, THE CHIMNEY SWEEPER, HAVEN, OUT FOR BLOOD, and THE LAKE. My short fiction, collected in AFTER YOU'VE GONE AND OTHER OUTRE TALES, has been published in several magazines and anthologies, including Christopher Street, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, and BEST AMERICAN MYSTERY STORIES 2003. I live in London with my husband and our dog Ricky, a toy poodle and petty thief. I have a day job that is too banal to write about and which keeps me from writing as much as I'd like.
