The highlight of my writing career was an Edgar nomination from the Mystery Writers of America for my true crime book WRITTEN IN BLOOD. That book was featured on an episode of Forensic Files. It is one of the ten true crime titles published by St. Martin's Press. Ihave four published mystery novels including three in the Detective Lucinda Pierce series.
I write both true crime non-fiction books and mystery novels and love the different challenges offered by the two genres. The most fulfilling thing for me as a true crime writer was the role I and my book, THROUGH THE WINDOW, played in finding justice for wrongfully convicted Julie Rea Harper. The story was featured on 20/20. I’ve also been very gratified with the email I’ve received from staff at Domestic Violence Shelters around the country who’ve called GONE FOREVER, an important book for women.
I was born in Baltimore, Maryland, lived half my adult life near the mountains in Virginia, and now live in the Hill Country of Texas in a town right in between Austin and San Antonio.
