Herbert Holeman, Ph.D. is a criminologist and a native San Franciscan educated locally at San Francisco State University and the School of Criminology, University of California, Berkely. His law enforcement service includes beat police work, criminal investigation locally, and serving as a bureau chief in the Law Enforcement Division of the California Department of Justice in Sacramento.
On assignment to the California Department of Corrections, he authored a nationally recognized study of women correctional officers which has been widely used in training and in legal casework.
