Dale Andrews
Greetings! Glad to be aboard!
I spent my work-a-day life as the Deputy Assistant General Counsel for Litigation at the U.S. Department of Transportation. But that's not why I'm here. :-)
On a whim I wrote an Ellery Queen pastiche, "The Book Case," which was published in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine in the May, 2007 edition. It was the first piece of fiction I have ever submitted for publication and, much to my surprise, the magazine accepted it. Even more to my surprise the novella won second place in the EQMM Readers' Choice Awards for 2007 and was nominated for a Barry Award as best short story of 2007. I have a second story that is being published in the September/October 2009 issue of EQMM -- "The Mad Hatter's Riddle" -- which is also an Ellery Queen pastiche, set in 1975 in Hollywood.
I am working on other short story ideas and hope that you will be seeing more of me.
